School visits and Schools Outreach
Schools & Groups
School and Group visits to one of our Science Centres
You will be able to bring a school group/party or Group (Brownies, Cubs, Scouts, Youth Clubs, Home Educated Groups etc.) to the interactive STEM Centre. We can accommodate groups of up to 130 children at any one time and more than that number if the children are arriving at staggered times and so can include a morning or afternoon visit. Coming to one of our centres we aim to be an educational experience which is inspiring and great fun, however we have bookings for Activity Weeks from schools as well as Reward trips. Visits last from 2 hours to play on the hands-on interactive exhibits for a school visit and at least 1 hour for groups and can be for a whole day if workshops are included in your visit. Lunch facilities allow for a packed lunch eating area or the children can eat in our café and meals can be provided if required and booked in advance.
Our Interactive Astronomy and Science Centre in Claydon is accessible via the A14 main road and also only one mile from Ipswich and is now welcoming visitors.
The centre offers science, history of scientific discoveries and also other topics and so can be cross-curriculum if required. No need to use your school “history” budget on visiting a museum – we will meet that need by including major dates, facts and famous scientists.
The centre is aimed at Key Stage 1, Stage 2 and 3, however we can adapt some of these for younger pre-school children and some are suitable for Key Stage 4. We are flexible and can make the topic to suit what you are studying presently in school eg “Farm to Fork” or Conservation.
Prices vary depending on the topics to be covered, the length of the visit and whether the children will be staying for lunch. Several packages available and price streams to choose from. Do contact us for the prices available to your school. We have a loyalty scheme and discount months.

The Interactive STEM centre will be welcoming school visits. We prefer these school visits to the centre are Monday – Wednesday although other days are possible with prior bookings and discussions. The days are open to schools who have booked ahead in advance and have specified a subject they wish to cover by the visit or whether they wish to just access the museum/centre . Our centre is on an estate and has ample parking and space allows for coach or mini bus drop off and there is safe access to the centre. Coaches are welcome to stay during the visit and there is parking available for these too.
Outreach for schools offers good price options for those not wanting to visit the centre – email us for details – itsrocketscience123@gmail.com
School and Group Outreach
We provide an Outreach service which presently covers all science subjects, maths and IT and engineering Roadshows. Schools and Groups are welcome to book an Outreach event and we have been to Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Youth clubs who are doing badges around the topics of science and Astronomy.
Most of our roadshows are aimed at Key Stage 1, Stage 2 and 3, however we can adapt some of these for younger pre-school children and some are suitable for Key Stage 4.
The Outreach offered could be to cover a specific curriculum topic and an Outreach visit could be for as little as two hours or could be for an entire day or days. If for a full day a maximum of four activities and topics can be chosen, eg. Forensics and mini experiments can be covered with four sessions.
Prices vary depending on the topics to be covered, the length of our visit and whether the participants are all one age and how many there will be attending. A tailor made package for every outreach can be for as little £4 per head, approx £100 per hour per class. Hence we do have packages to suit all budgets and even the most expensive are cost effective when you look at the per head cost.
Your Outreach event can include Resources, Worksheets, Teacher’s Notes, suggested further lessons and Risk Assessments. A formal booking will be needed to secure a date and time and payment is to be made on the day.
